    The Cambridge International AS Level Afrikaans syllabus enables learners to achieve greater fluency, accuracy and confidence in the language as it is spoken and written, and improve their communication skills. 

    They learn how to improve their use of Afrikaans in a variety of situations, understanding how to read texts and other source materials, and how to extract information, initiate conversations and respond to questions both orally and in writing.

  • Arabic (8680 & 9680)

    The Cambridge International AS & A Level syllabus in Arabic aims to:

    • develop the ability to understand Arabic in a variety of registers
    • enable students to communicate confidently and clearly in Arabic
    • form a sound base of skills, language and attitudes required for further study, work and leisure

  • Chinese Mandarin (8238)

    Cambridge International AS Level Chinese Language (8238) helps learners to develop language proficiency and practical communication skills in Mandarin Chinese to a CFER Independent User level. The syllabus:

    • is suitable for learners working at a level equivalent to at least A2 on the CEFR
    • develops learners' ability in all four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
    • builds knowledge of vocabulary and grammar in the context of six areas covering both familiar and more general topics
    • encourages engagement with the culture and society of countries and communities where Chinese is spoken.

  • English (9093)

    Cambridge International AS and A Level English Language provides learners with the opportunity to study English language and its use in communication. Learners will be encouraged to respond critically to a wide variety of texts in a range of forms, styles and contexts, and to promote skills of communication, reading, research and analysis.

    Through their study, learners will develop an ability to read and analyse material, gaining further knowledge and understanding of English language features and issues. Learners will also develop the skills of writing clearly, accurately, creatively and effectively for different purposes and audiences.

  • French (8028)

    Cambridge International AS Level French Language (8028) helps learners to develop transferrable communication skills in French to a CEFR Independent User level. The syllabus:

    • is suitable for learners working at a level equivalent to at least A2 on the CEFR
    • builds knowledge of vocabulary and grammar in the context of six topic areas covering both familiar and more general topics
    • encourages engagement with the culture and society of countries and communities where French is spoken.
  • German (8027)

    Cambridge International AS Level German Language (8027) helps learners to develop transferrable communication skills in German to a CEFR Independent User level.
