Cambridge Eleven accordingly refers to the eleven official languages of South Africa, and not the number of titles in the series. All titles in the series contain features such as a contents page, a synopsis of the book, a short biography of the author, a detailed glossary and relevant revision questions with model answers.
The series stems from the Cambridge Literacy Project, which aims to build up both the quantity as well as the quality of literature available for young people in South Africa across all genres.

Bobabili bayizimbongi ezaziwayo olimini lwesiZulu. Ziningi izinkondlo abazibhalile kanye namaqoqo ezinkondlo abawahlelile. Izinkondlo ezikuleli qoqo zilungele ukufundwa ngabesiZulu ulimi lwaseKhaya kanye nabesiZulu ulimi lokuQala olweNgeziwe. Leli qoqo lithinta izingqikithi ezehlukene: ezemvelo, ezemfundo, ezothando, ezokuhlalisana kwabantu kanye nezinye eziningi. Liqukethe impilomlando yezimbongi, incazelo yamagama ajiyile kanye nokuhluzwa kwezinkondlo ezithile. Leli yiqoqo elilungele ukufundwa amabanga emfundo aphakeme kanye nalawo aqondene nokuqeqesha okuqhubekayo.
